My mom gave me this interesting recipe. It is so easy but looks beautiful and gourmet when served. Good for a Christmas treat gift, as well.
1 cake mix (any flavor, baked and cooled)
1 container of cream cheese frosting (storebought or homemade)
chocolate chips or bars, for melting
Crumble cooled cake into a bowl. Add entire container of cream cheese frosting. Mix well and roll into small balls. Refrigerate or freeze. Melt chocolate in microwave in 30 second intervals (stirring in between). Carefully dip chilled balls in chocolate (I use two spoons to help get them out--they are a little fragile) and let dry on waxed paper or greased foil. Drizzle white chocolate over the tops when dry.
