I first tried this cake on the 4th of July in 2005 when my friend Stacy Richards brought it to a party. I have enjoyed it many times since and I am so glad to have the recipe.
Stacy's Cherry Chocolate Fudge Cake:
1 Devil's Food cake mix
1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
2 eggs
2 tsp. almond extract
Mix first four ingredients; pour into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes.
Frosting:
5 T. butter
1/3 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 tsp. almond extract
Mix butter, milk and sugar; bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips and almond extract. Frost while cake is warm.
